Main activity
management, implementation, monitoring
The Pakivalo ButiQ project, with a total value of €1,100,595, is a relevant example of EU-funded project management applied in the field of social economy in Romania. Funded through the Sectoral Human Resources Development Operational Programme (POSDRU), the project aimed to support social entrepreneurship and to develop economic initiatives with a positive impact on the community.
Within this project, management, implementation and monitoring activities were carried out by consultants experienced in EU-funded projects, who coordinated the entire process, from planning activities and organising interventions up to monitoring indicators and reporting results.
The project was designed to demonstrate that the social economy can become a real solution for community development and for creating economic opportunities for people who need additional support to enter the labour market.
Through its activities, the project aimed to:
The implementation of the project included a series of practical activities designed to support the development of the social economy. Through a carefully managed process of EU-funded project management, each stage was planned and monitored in order to achieve the proposed results.
Key activities within the project included:
The Pakivalo ButiQ Social Business Caravan brought together organisations, social entrepreneurs and members of the public interested in this field. The event included presentations, meetings and visits to social economy initiatives, offering participants the opportunity to discover real examples of businesses with social impact.
An important result of the project was the allocation of funding for 10 social enterprises, developed in a variety of sectors, from production and services to creative activities. These initiatives contributed to creating economic opportunities and promoting a business model focused on community impact.
At the same time, the project helped increase the visibility of the social economy concept in Romania and supported the development of a network of initiatives and organisations interested in this field.
The impact and quality of the implementation were also recognised at national level. The Pakivalo ButiQ project won second prize in the “Economic and Social Development” category at the Civil Society Gala in 2016.
This recognition confirms the value of the results achieved and the effective way in which the management of the EU-funded project was carried out. The Pakivalo ButiQ project remains an example of an initiative that demonstrated how European funding can generate real results when implemented through careful coordination and active collaboration between organisations, experts and the community.
The successful delivery of the project is the result of the work and expertise of a large multidisciplinary team, without which these results would not have been possible. Among the key experts involved in project management, coordination, implementation and monitoring were also senior consultants from ILIGRA.

“Thank you, and same. Part of what I loved most about working with you was how your experience as an entrepreneur was evident. You have a powerful way of speaking succintly, and being very on point for what the team needs to think about (that we might not have been thinking about). :) I deeply respect your opinions and I really hope we can collaborate again.”
"Just to let you know we had a digital meeting with the Norwegian Culture Council today in order to learn more about the situation [Ed: concerning the grant application]. You should be proud to learn that your application was one of only 13 that were successfully approved from 80 applications!”
"More good news for today! :) After a year and a half of waiting, the longest ever, but definitely worth it :) Thank you once again for all your help. Do you happen to know what the next steps are for signing the contract and getting the project started?"
"Great news! :) We won the funding. It was a brilliant team effort, and I’m so glad we could collaborate on this application. You mainly saw the interaction with me, but I had a whole team behind the scenes helping out with contributing data, drafting content the endless paperwork, scanning, and the final submission. Today we celebrate; tomorrow we get to work! :)"
"Even though we work remotely, and we’ve been working this way for a while now, we want to thank you sincerely for standing by us and providing such invaluable support. It is remarkable how quickly you mobilised and how much you helped us launch a completely new programme for us in this context [Ed. note: the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic]."
“One of the respondents to the survey called me to tell me that the questionnaire was smartly done and she wanted to discuss leadership solutions. Above expectations, as always.”
"The project's goals have been successfully attained. We were highly satisfied with the outcomes and with the efficient, constructive manner in which both the project activities and our collaboration unfolded."
"I want to thank you on behalf of the whole team for your guidance during the application process. Having your constant support and dedicated involvement made all the difference, especially as this was our very first submission. Though it was an anxious journey at times, we successfully passed every milestone, and we hope this marks the start of a long-term partnership."
